don't panic

beating so quickly, chest shaking,
breath comes in fits and spurts,
lungs exploding with every second,
ears echo, head about to pop.

thoguhts jump to the darkest conclusions
blackness creeping in at the edges,
focus drifts as sweat beads fall
across my salty, blurred vision

tears, sweat, rain... strangely familiar
siblings? or just one and the same?
stomach joins in and starts to churn,
i need to lay down for a minute.
